Position Summary: To assist the MRI Technologist in their daily duties What the MRI Aide will do: Assist Technologist with prepping patient for examination. Welcome and greet patients by introducing yourself. Help get patients changed. Identify and assist with special needs IE: wheelchair, hearing defects etc. Assist technologist in positioning patient on the MRI table. Under the direction of the MRI technologist, transport patients, and assist technologist in completing MRI related tasks. Access patient information from the hospital information system. Input pharmacy charges for contrast, assist in updating chart notes and scanning in paperwork. Answer phone and coordinate patient flow with nursing units and the Emergency Department. Assist in MRI safety screening including safety form review, surgical history and device look up. Stock supplies, linen and prepare MRI room for next patient. What the MRI Aide will need: High school graduate with patient experience or Medical Assistant certification. Must meet MRI safety screening requirements to work within Zone 4 magnetic field. Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral.
