Completes and signs necessary forms and explains the procedure to the patient. Maintains patient care, comfort, and safety during transport to and from the coach and the exam. Maintains technical competency through continued education. Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures. May assist with the setup and tear down of equipment following SMS and/or manufacturers’ guidelines. Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of the facility. Completes all necessary administrative tasks. Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality. Complies with all safety policies and regulations. Performs additional duties as required. EDUCATION Radiographer certification preferred. High School Diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. EXPERIENCE Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an MRI Tech. 2 years medical assistant or imaging assistant Requirements: Must be able to safely enter and work in MRI Zones III and IV in accordance with MRI safety guidelines. Knowledge of human anatomy. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work. IV experience preferred The MRI environment includes strong magnetic fields that may pose safety risks for individuals with certain metallic objects or devices. SKILLS Strong customer service. Strong attention-to-detail. Ability to work under pressure. Abilities: Lift and position patients for the type of MRI procedure required. Keep and maintain records. ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS Normal clinic environment. May be exposed to disease, and toxic chemicals in the course of performing the work. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS Sedentary work, with occasional walking. Must be able to lift as some patients may have to be lifted and/or turned. –50 POUNDS
