About The Position

The Marine Raider Battalion (MRB) Joint Terminal Attack Controller – Instructor/Evaluator (JTAC-I/E) Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides operational instruction, evaluation, and programmatic support to Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARFORSOC) in support of the JTAC training and qualification mission. This role supports battalion-level fires integration by delivering JTAC instruction, simulator and live-fire training support, range operations, and evaluation services to MARSOF personnel. The MRB JTAC-I/E SME ensures JTACs are trained, evaluated, and tracked in accordance with USSOCOM and MARFORSOC directives while maintaining the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and operational relevance. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • Held or exceeded a JTAC-I qualification as a uniformed service member in accordance with service JTAC guidance. JTAC-I/E qualification must have occurred within the last 48 months.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as a SOF JTAC .
  • Ability to instruct, mentor, and evaluate JTACs in both classroom and field environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of CAS procedures, fires integration, and JTAC program requirements.
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-tempo training environments requiring precision and adherence to safety standards.
  • Active SECRET clearance on Day 1 of contract execution.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC and comply with all DoD security and OPSEC requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior service in a Marine Raider Battalion or other SOF unit.
  • Experience supporting joint or coalition fires training events.
  • Previous instructor or evaluator experience in a SOF training environment.
  • Familiarity with MARFORSOC JTAC program administration and qualification tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Provide JTAC instruction, training, and evaluation support to Marine Raider Battalion personnel in accordance with applicable JTAC guidance and MARFORSOC requirements.
  • Conduct JTAC and JTAC-I/E simulator training , mission rehearsal, and exercise support.
  • Support range operations , including mission duties during training events and coordination with range personnel.
  • Assist with CAS malfunction, accident, and incident response , to include immediate actions and required reporting.
  • Maintain JTAC and JTAC-I/E qualifications in compliance with: JFS ESC AP MOU 2024-01 (JTAC Ground) USSOCOM M 350-5 USSOCOM D 525-13 MARFORSOC 3500.2 series orders
  • Provide instruction to JTACs under instruction during Mission Qualification Training (MQT), Unit Level Training (ULT), and other directed training events.
  • Conduct JTAC evaluations (when qualified) of MARFORSOC and other service personnel as directed by JTAC Program leadership.
  • Perform required training to attain and maintain Range Safety Officer (RSO) qualifications and execute RSO duties during training events.
  • Assist in range scheduling and coordination of supporting assets when directed.
  • Support JTAC program management , including qualification tracking, administrative documentation, and readiness reporting.
  • Provide immediate response and substantiating reports for any safety incident involving contractor personnel.
  • Support the Firepower Control Platoon (FCP) as with scheduling, POI development, curriculum review, and execution of MARSOF fires training.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct consistent with Marine Corps civilian attire and grooming standards.
