About The Position

McWane Plant & Industrial is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our Job Shop Fabrication and Machining Operation. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of the facility and coordinating the successful execution of receiving, inventory and shipping operations and activities.

Requirements

  • Must be able to operate a forklift and obtain certification.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus and determine and distinguish color.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to meet and adhere physical requirements as well as adhere to wearing the appropriate PPE (steel toed boots, safety glasses and hearing protection)
  • Must be able to work in dust and fumes.
  • Will be required to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
  • Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Wears appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of the assigned work area as well as maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Proactively promotes the McWane Way principles.
  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the McWane Plant & Industrial Management Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.
  • Responsible for receiving all incoming shipments, verifying their contents, and ensuring that they match the packing list and purchase order.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.
  • Inspects incoming goods for damages, defects, or other issues and reports any discrepancies to the appropriate parties.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This includes tracking numbers, packing lists, and bills of lading.
  • Maintains accurate inventory records, including stock levels, locations, and expiration dates.
  • Organizes incoming goods in the warehouse or storage area, ensuring that they are easily accessible and properly labeled.
  • Picks and packs outgoing orders according to customer specifications and prepares them for shipment.
  • Responsible for arranging the shipment of outgoing goods, including selecting the appropriate carrier, preparing shipping documents, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Communicates with vendors and customers to resolve issues, answer questions, and provide updates on shipment status.
  • Responsible for keeping the shipping and receiving area clean and organized to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Responsible for reading work instructions and correctly modifying and assembling valves for production.
  • Must be able to operate the valve test machines safely and keep records of all testing processes.
  • Regular full-time attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • All other duties as assigned.
