About The Position

At J and R Property Services, we are redefining excellence in property maintenance throughout Central New York. As we continue to expand our mowing division, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Mowing Supervisor to oversee residential and commercial mowing crews. This position is responsible for training team members, maintaining quality and safety standards in the field, and ensuring routes are completed efficiently and on schedule. The Mowing Supervisor will work closely with the Operations Manager to coordinate manpower, equipment, and daily production goals.

Requirements

Experience in residential and commercial lawn maintenance required.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Ability to operate trucks with trailers safely and confidently.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Basic computer skills.
Professional demeanor and appearance.
Ability to lift 50–75 lbs on a regular basis.
Ability to bend, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, sun, and rain.
Ability to work extended hours during peak season as needed.

Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Train new team members on all aspects of residential and commercial mowing operations, including proper use of commercial-grade mowers, trimming equipment, and other tools.
Provide hands-on instruction to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
Monitor team performance in the field and identify deficiencies.
Take corrective action when needed and demonstrate proper techniques to improve performance.
Promote a positive, safety-focused, and team-oriented work environment.
Safely and efficiently manage mowing crews to complete assigned routes on schedule.
Ensure properties meet company quality standards.
Adjust routes and manpower as needed to maintain production goals.
Move team members between crews when necessary to maintain coverage and efficiency.
Handle client concerns professionally and promptly.
Communicate service updates or issues to the Operations Manager as needed.
Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively at all times.
Safely operate company trucks with trailers in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
Ensure equipment is operated safely and maintained properly.
Enforce company safety procedures in the field.
Utilize basic computer and tablet skills to: Update job notes, Adjust routes, Reassign team members as needed
Complete required reports and documentation
Maintain clear communication with the Operations Manager regarding daily progress, issues, and staffing needs.
