About The Position

The Mountain Bike Coach is responsible for teaching and guiding riders in the Basin Gravity Park while maintaining excellent guest service and providing a safe, fun, and educational experience. Summer seasonal, hourly position. OUR MISSION At Bogus Basin, we have a passion for our mountain, our community, and our mission. For 80 years we’ve brought affordable, accessible, and fun mountain recreation to the Treasure Valley. Requirements

  • Passionate about Bogus Basin’s Mission.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Good working bike suitable for MTB park riding.
  • Must be able to ride comfortably on blue and black trails at moderate speed.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Follow sound presentation principles and conducts lessons for maximum positive outcome.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds above shoulder level.
  • Frequently required to stand, balance, walk, climb, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Background Check required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and guide MTB lessons as assigned.
  • Greet students at meeting areas prepared to teach lessons.
  • Create a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment.
  • Promote safety by following safe practices and reporting any unsafe conditions.
  • Adapts teaching approach to the student’s age, temperament, and desires.
  • Complete all paperwork: class cards, time sheets and incident reports.
  • Check in for assignments and scheduled lessons on time.
  • Attend all assigned meetings and training.
  • Train for self-improvement. (Riding skills, industry knowledge, and professional development)
  • Assist in preparing lesson plans for upcoming lessons.
  • Perform other related tasks, as necessary.
