About The Position

We are seeking a Trackside Engineer who will play a crucial role in optimizing the performance of our IndyCar vehicles during races and testing sessions. Your technical expertise and analytical skills will be essential in ensuring our cars achieve maximum speed, reliability, and overall competitive advantage. This role involves directly developing IndyCar tools to support our Chevrolet-powered race teams. You will utilize GM-created simulation and support tools to collaborate with various Chevrolet teams, aiming to improve simulation correlation and operate at the DiL (Driver in Loop) simulator. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive motorsports, preferably in IndyCar or similar high-performance racing series
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., MATLAB, Pi Toolbox, MoTeC)
• Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, and powertrain systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Strong work ethic and integrity
• Willingness to travel extensively to races and testing sites including weekends and holidays; approximately 17 race events are scheduled with workdays ranging from 12 to 16 hours per day

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the race team to develop and implement performance strategies
• Analyze data from various sensors and telemetry systems to identify areas for improvement
• Provide real-time feedback to engineers during race events
• Travel to race events, test sessions, and other related activities as required
• Work under extreme pressure and tight timelines in a high-pressure environment
• Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders
