About The Position

As a Motor Tour Driver, you are responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle while providing an engaging, information, and welcoming experience for guests on tours. These tours provide exceptional customer service while transporting passengers and conducting tours throughout Catalina Island. This role delivers guided narration during tours while delivering customer experience and adhering to safety standards and schedules. This role REQUIRES a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and clean commercial driving record

Requirements

• REQUIRES a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement
• Clean commercial driving record (subject to DMV and DOT review)
• Previous commercial driving or tour driving experience
• Strong verbal communication and public speaking skills
• Strong customer service focused with a friendly profession demeanor
• Must be able to deliver a commentary while driving passengers
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Comfortable speaking to groups in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle or bus in compliance with all local, state and federal transportation laws
• Maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and clean commercial driving record
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues
• Follow all company safety policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
• Ensure passenger safety during boarding, transport, and disembarking
• Greet guests in a friend and professional manner
• Provide clear, engaging narration on tour including local history, landmarks and various points of interest
• Answer guest questions and provide recommendations when appropriate
• Create a positive, courteous, and enjoyable experience for all guests
• Verify tickets, guest counts and tour manifests
• Maintain accurate driving logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation
• Ensure exemplary customer service
• Other duties as assigned
