About The Position

We are seeking a Mortgage Sales Manager to lead and develop our team of Mortgage Bankers while driving strong sales performance and an exceptional borrower experience. This is a non‑production, leadership-focused role responsible for team management, recruiting, training, sales performance oversight, and partnership with Operations to ensure a smooth and efficient loan process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of residential mortgage lending experience, including 5+ years in mortgage sales leadership.
  • Proven record of recruiting, developing, and leading Mortgage Bankers.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage regulations (TRID, HMDA, QM) and loan products (conventional, FHA/VA/USDA, portfolio).
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Working knowledge of CRM, LOS, and reporting tools (Encompass a plus).
  • Active NMLS license (or ability to obtain).
  • Must not appear on federal exclusion lists (GSA, HUD LDP, FHFA SCP).

  • Experience within a community bank or depository mortgage environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of Mortgage Bankers to achieve sales and performance goals.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and develop Mortgage Bankers.
  • Track team production, KPIs, and pipeline health; use insights to drive performance improvements.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure efficient loan handoffs and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Support the team with guideline questions, problem resolution, and compliant sales practices.
  • Drive local market growth through relationship-building with referral partners and internal teams.
  • Represent the Bank at community and industry events to strengthen market presence.
  • Ensure adherence to mortgage regulations, internal policies, and quality standards.
