About The Position

The Mortgage Quality Control Reverification Specialist is responsible for ordering re-verifications of asset, employment, and income documents. This role also involves assisting in the preparation of appraisals for field review orders. The specialist operates independently of the production, underwriting, and closing departments to ensure unbiased quality control. A key aspect of the role is maintaining current knowledge of agency guidelines and consumer disclosure requirements through ongoing training, including the use of automated underwriting systems.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organization, analysis, and writing skills
• Strong computer skills especially with Microsoft products
• The ability to learn new software quickly
• Knowledgeable about the usage of scanners, printers and copiers
• Able to maintain thorough knowledge in rapidly changing regulatory environment
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and guidelines effectively

Responsibilities

• Orders reverifications in a timely manner
• Tracks the 1st and 2nd attempts at obtaining reverifications
• Reviews reverification documentation that comes back to ensure they note the documents obtained during loan processing and employment time frame were factual and escalating ones that come back as not factual to the Mortgage Quality Assurance Officer
• Scrubs appraisals to ensure all required data is removed in preparation to order a field review appraisal
• Operates independently of the production, underwriting, and closing departments
• Maintains knowledge of agency guidelines and consumer disclosure requirements through on-going training including use of automated underwriting systems
