Requirements

Associate's degree in business, finance, banking, or real estate preferred.
4+ years of experience in credit analysis, mortgage lending, or secondary market operations (or a Bachelor's degree in lieu of experience).
Strong knowledge of mortgage laws and regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and intermediate Excel.
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Underwrite mortgage loans in accordance with SCU and investor guidelines.
Ensure data integrity and complete documentation in all files.
Support lenders and processors with real-time feedback and expert guidance.
Collaborate with the Mortgage Processing Department to meet underwriting timelines.
Maintain knowledge of tools like Desktop Underwriter, Loan Prospector, and WHEDA.
Contribute to internal audits and compliance efforts.
Help develop underwriting and program guidelines aligned with credit union strategy.
Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence in every interaction.
