Here's what you'd do: - Supports the credit union's mission, core values, bylaws, Board policies, service standards, and procedures while maintaining required product knowledge. - Delivers timely, responsive service to internal and external members in alignment with the credit union's Service Promises; promotes teamwork and cooperation. - Processes mortgage loan files from pre-disclosure through funding, including file setup, data entry, imaging, quality control audits, and ongoing file maintenance within the mortgage origination and servicing system. - Orders, tracks, reviews, and follows up on third-party documentation (appraisals, titles, surveys, verifications, insurance, flood certifications), ensuring vendor SLAs and guideline compliance. - Utilizes Encompass to automate disclosures, maintain accurate milestone tracking, and verify loan data including product type, loan amount, assets, liabilities, and employment. - Reviews appraisals and surveys for compliance and accuracy; recommends loan denial when minimum standards are not met. - Communicates underwriting requirements, loan status, and realistic expectations to members, loan officers, realtors, title companies, settlement agents, and internal teams from submission through closing. - Prepares and balances closing disclosures; coordinates closings and e-closings; issues wire transfers; sends and retrieves closing packages; reviews final documents and ensures post-closing requirements are met. - Meets production standards of 10 files per month, maintains a 21-day submit-to-clear-to-close turnaround, and sustains a QC error rate below 3% in compliance with TRID, RESPA, and regulatory timelines. - Provides telephone support, assists members with electronic delivery channels, and issues payoff information as requested. - Ensures compliance with BSA, AML, CIP, and CDD requirements and maintains knowledge of credit union policies, rates, disclosures, and regulatory standards. - Communicates regulatory updates and material loan changes that could affect approval or salability; participates in process improvement initiatives to reduce turn times. - Maintains files, copies, faxes documents, orders supplies, keeps management informed of issues or changes, and performs other duties or special projects as assigned. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of mortgage department experience in a financial institution or mortgage office.

Nice To Haves

  • Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school, or financial industry-related curriculum, should be business or financial industry-related.
  • Intermediate knowledge of related state and federal compliance regulations and operational policies.
  • The incumbent must possess a thorough knowledge of TRID guidelines and disclosure delivery times.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematics calculations, including fractions, percentages, multiplication, and division; use of ten-key and keyboard by touch is required.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; word processing, spreadsheet, and software programs.
  • Intermediate typing skills to meet the production needs of the position.
  • Possess strong attention to detail skills.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and communicate clearly to members and employees.
