About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Processor will receive and process loan applications. Serve as liaison between Loan Department and customers to provide superior customer service. Comply with all legal and regulatory guidelines related to the mortgage loan industry.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Minimum 1-3 years in Mortgage lending, banking, or financial services.
• Working knowledge of residential mortgage loan processes from application through closing.
• Must have a proactive attitude toward supervisors, co-workers, and the Company
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
• Proficiency with LOS systems (Laser Pro and Mortgagebot).
• Strong working knowledge of loan documentation requirements, credit reports, income, assets and collateral review.
• Ability to navigate investor and agency guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA as applicable).
• Familiarity with TRID, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA and other applicable mortgage regulations.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with internal policies and investor guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assuring customer service is top priority whether internally or externally; treating customers and employees professionally, with courtesy and respect
• Processing applications from all sources, (e.g., internet, fax, mail, email, and walk-ins)
• Following-up with customers regarding loan status, pre-approval, qualification status, and counteroffers; following-up on pending Loan Department paperwork
• Actively selling and promoting Cornerstone's full line of services and products
• Correspond with customer, real estate agents, appraisers, and title companies as needed to obtain information necessary for loan closing
• Other duties as assigned.
