About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for managing the documentation, verification, communication, and administrative processes required to move a mortgage loan application from origination through underwriting and closing in a timely and efficient manner. Specifically, this position is responsible for analyzing and evaluating all types of mortgage applications such as FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA and Credit Union guidelines. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational policies and investor guidelines while delivering exceptional service to members throughout the loan process. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2+ years mortgage experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, and extremely organized and detail-oriented with the ability to time-manage and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of mortgage loan processing experience and/or related lending/financial services experience.
  • Knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • A 2-year college degree is preferred, high school degree or GED is required.

Responsibilities

  • Review mortgage loan applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with program guidelines.
  • Accurately manage approval condition processing for submission to underwriting
  • Deliver mortgage loan commitment letters to necessary parties on or before specified date.
  • Track and manage an individual pipeline to meet deadlines of loan commitments, rate lock expiration, and closing dates.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and closing staff to ensure timely updates and resolution of issues.
  • Confirm all disclosures are accurate and provided in a timely manner in compliance with federal and state laws, and in compliance with investor regulations.
  • Manage internal quality control checklists to ensure due diligence and accuracy.
  • Address and respond to any audit reviews and/or post-closing findings.
