Title of Position: Mortgage Loan Processor Position Overview: As a Mortgage Loan Processor, you will be responsible for completing all necessary functions required to originate and service 1st and 2nd mortgage loans. The role will include processing new mortgage files, loan creation, managing mortgage escrow accounts and mortgage discharge preparation.

Requirements

  • High-school diploma and 1-3 years of member/customer service and computer experience.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Proficient with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, PCs, etc.

  • NMLS certification.
  • Notary license.

Responsibilities

  • Review mortgage loan file documents to ensure documentation obtained and loan paperwork complete.
  • Order required services from vendor platforms.
  • Complete processing fee transactions on member accounts.
  • Submit approved files to the credit union’s attorneys for legal review.
  • Prepare projections and provide final clear to close to credit union attorney offices.
  • Review mortgage closing documentation for accuracy prior to adding to the mortgage loan file.
  • Update HMDA reportable fields within the origination platform.
  • Fund the newly originated mortgage loan on applicable servicing platforms.
  • Create mortgage escrow accounts on servicing platform with corresponding tax agency codes and policy/tax map numbers.
  • Obtain and submit payments out of mortgage escrow accounts to various tax and insurance agencies based on payment schedule.
  • Manage monthly payments out of mortgage escrow accounts to Private Insurance Companies.
  • Complete escrow related research to obtain payment amounts and payment issue resolutions.
  • Review reports to identify shortfalls in the mortgage escrow accounts.
  • Facilitate annual analysis on the mortgage escrow account.
  • Process 1st and 2nd mortgage payments and final payments.
  • Complete 1st and 2nd mortgage payoff letters for mortgage holders and attorneys’ offices.
  • Prepare and electronically file mortgage discharges within regulatory guidelines.
  • Research mortgage related issues.
  • Act as a liaison between members and Visions insurance tracking company.
  • Collaborate with member facing team members and members on mortgage loans via the telephone, email and internal jabber groups.
  • Manages incoming 1st and 2nd mortgage post-closing documentation.
  • Provide departmental back-up coverage as needed.
  • Respond effectively to changing ideas, responsibilities, expectations, trends, strategies, and other processes.
