About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Processor II processes mortgage loans from application to closing. This position complies with all legal and regulatory guidelines related to the mortgage loan industry. The Mortgage Loan Processor II improves customer service by processing all loans in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 3 years related experience and/or training, and 12 to 18 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.
  • Intermediate: 10-Key, Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Word Processing/Typing
  • Basic: Contact Management, Database, Spreadsheet
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • 3+ years of mortgage loan processing experience required
  • 5+ years experience using personal computers
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Products
  • Proficient telephone and customer service skills
  • Ability to sit for long periods
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs
  • Ability to multi-task

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years hands on experience processing Conventional, FHA, VA, RD, and Bond loans preferred
  • 1 year experience with Encompass Anywhere preferred

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming phone calls and answer customer questions regarding mortgage loans in general or specific to a borrower's loan in process.
  • Process FHA, VA, Conventional, Bond and RD loans after application, which includes, but not limited to, processing various types of verifications, pulling credit report, ordering appraisals, ordering title work, running loans through an automated system, pulling flood certificates, getting loan files ready and submitting them to underwriting, following up with underwriting and clearing all underwriting conditions.
  • Correspond with customers, real estate agents, appraisers, and title companies as needed to obtain information necessary to getting the mortgage loan ready to close.
  • Prepare month end reports to various banks and regulatory agencies.
  • Work directly with the Mortgage Loan Officer to ensure the utmost in customer service.
  • Refer customers to other bank personnel as needed.
  • Perform research on Bankway, Fortis, Image Center and Dimension.
  • Perform daily duties on all bank systems and Mortgage operating systems such as DO, DU, LP, Encompass and Doc magic.
  • Identify Cross Selling opportunities.
  • Review fields for completeness, qualification and Compliance.
  • Communicate deficiencies to the loan officer and customer.
  • Advise loan officer of any changes needed in the file to obtain loan approval.
  • Communicate with realtor and customer of status as they change.
  • Communicate with Underwriter once file is submitted for approval process.
  • Clear underwriting conditions.
  • Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
