About The Position

The Mortgage Closer is responsible for reviewing loan documents for accuracy and completeness, coordinating closing activities, and ensuring transactions are completed efficiently and in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. This role serves as a primary point of contact for borrowers, real estate agents, attorneys, and other stakeholders, providing clear communication and support throughout the closing process to ensure a smooth and timely closing experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required, College degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in mortgage lending, with specific experience in loan closing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and mortgage lending software.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage loan processes and regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Document Review & Quality Control
  • Carefully examine all loan documents, closing disclosures, and related materials to ensure they meet regulatory standards, lender requirements, and company policies.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise during the preparation or execution of closing documents, working with relevant parties to ensure timely resolution.
  • Transaction Coordination & Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all parties involved in the transaction, scheduling loan closings and ensuring seamless collaboration to meet deadlines and regulatory timelines.
  • Provide clear, professional communication to borrowers, real estate agents, attorneys, and other stakeholders throughout the closing process while maintaining a high level of professionalism and empathy in all interactions.
  • Address questions, provide updates, and ensure all parties understand their responsibilities and timelines while anticipating needs and proactively addressing concerns to support a positive closing experience.
  • Compliance & Document Control
  • Verify that all prepared closing documents comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal company policies.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes and adapt processes accordingly.
  • Ensure all closing documents and transactions are properly organized, scanned, and filed in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Prepare documentation for audits and compliance reviews as needed.
