About The Position

Infant Lead Guide Responsibilities: Is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and managing the classroom. Oversees the classroom environment, children, and Assistant Teacher. Maintains a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment. Supervises Assistant Guide to ensure they are contributing to the peaceful, prepared environment. Conducts Parent Conferences twice per year. Managing physical care of children (including diapering and toileting). Provides lessons to the children with organizing materials and bringing tasks to completion. Consistently communicates with children in a firm, yet loving and kind presence, and upholds a calm, patient environment. Communicates important information to Assistant Guide regarding aspects of the children and classroom. (Management) Ensures the daily care of every child by following all school/ classroom procedures and standards, as well as all licensing guidelines. Maintains a professional self-image and projects the values of the school at all times. Keeps up with required training hours and certifications according to licensing. Ensures regular communication with parents through Student Information System - from Guide and Assistant Guide. Qualifications: Legally authorized to work in the United States Must be at least 18 years of age Meet all State of Texas Child Care requirements, including background check, fingerprinting, and educational minimums Obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR Certification Complete pre-service hours (if applicable) and complete/maintain required annual continuing education hours per state guidelines Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, patience and problem solving Sit comfortably on the floor with children and on low chairs Bend, squat, kneel, move and organize classroom furniture as needed Organizational abilities Ability to build a genuine rapport with children, families, collegues, and community members Must meet physical requirements of the job including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds Must enjoy working with children and helping them learn while trusting them to make good decisions Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with children in an educational environment Understanding of child development Understanding and appreciation of the genuine Montessori Method A demonstrated desire to learn new skills The ability to engage and work with a diverse population of children and families

Requirements
