Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Monoshell Operator II to join our Dover Casting group in Dover, New Jersey. The work hours for this position will be on Monday to Friday 2PM-1030PM Training will be on Day shift (Monday - Friday 6:00a - 2:30p). The starting hourly rate is $26.95. ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace’s EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles. Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations. Wear all required personal protective equipment. Report all job-related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook). Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner. Attend all EH&S training.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining department inventory of slurry raw materials based on consumption and expected usage. Coordinates with receiving to deliver additional materials.
  • Performs dip manufacturing by following basic processing setups: Following and completing the batch formulations sheets in IPC Carefully weighing and recording all batch components Testing all dip properties and recording data on batch formulation sheets including viscosity, pate weight, density, percent solids, pH, conductivity and temperature Qualify dip prior to releasing to production Input’s data into the slurry database (IPC)
  • Manage the age/reserve pots: Performs viscosity, plate weight and percent solids checks on all required dips and makes necessary adjustments using documented reaction plans Periodically clean dip pots (Cleans age and reserve dip pots rims and paddles at least once per week) Inputs data into slurry database (IPC). Transport dip and replenishes pots on all required dip pots.
  • In conjunction with the process owner, this position manages the batching calendar requirements.
  • Maintain all waste slurry and materials in accordance with EHS requirements and department specified activity instructions.
  • Report issues with dips and dip pots back to the supervisor and Monoshell process owner.
  • Perform weekly lab testing on all age and reserve slurries per AI280.01.16. This task will be alternated on a Bi-weekly basis between slurry manufactures.
  • Conduct change out of all non-slurry prewets, rinses and washes based on instruction requirements.
  • Perform calibration on viscosity cups, plates and pycnometers on a quarterly basis or as instructed by the Monoshell process owner.
  • Coordinate and manage responsibilities in conjunction with peer Monoshell Operator II workers.
  • Must complete Monoshell training program and pass a competency performance test at the end of 6-12 months of on-the-job training.
  • Must be able to perform Monoshell Operator activities.
