About The Position

The Monitor is responsible for providing student support on school grounds, during school events or during their transportation for their safety and well-being.

Requirements

  • Ability to use effective communication skills
  • Ability to use time effectively
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain a positive relationship with other staff by collaborating and working cooperatively with them (including supervisors)
  • Minimum of high school education or GED

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience working in a school is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists students for the purpose of providing safe environments for their well-being.
  • Attends unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for the purpose of gathering information required to perform job functions.
  • Instructs students for the purpose of enforcing rules/regulations and maintaining student safety and well-being.
  • Monitors students while on school property or at a school event for the purpose of ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
  • Prepares reports (e.g. incident reports, student behavior, attendance, safety concerns, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, conveying information, and/or complying with established guidelines.
  • Reports observations and/or incidents (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate personnel for their action.
  • Follows the policies and procedures of the school and the District.
  • Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility, such as demonstrating ethical behavior; providing accurate data and reports when needed; meeting deadlines; maintaining confidentiality; caring for the equipment and materials; and dressing appropriately and presenting a good role model.
  • Other duties as assigned.
