The Monitor Technician is responsible for continuous surveillance of telemetry monitors to assess and document patient cardiac rhythms. Identifies arrhythmias, communicates findings to the healthcare team, and ensures monitoring equipment is functional and accurately configured. Supports patient safety and effective care delivery. Essential Functions Continuously observes and interprets patient telemetry monitors, accurately recording rhythm strips at established intervals. Identifies and promptly notifies the nurse or other licensed personnel of any rhythm changes, including potentially life-threatening arrhythmias. Maintains effective communication with peers, staff, physicians, and leaders to ensure seamless care coordination. Troubleshoots and resolves issues with monitoring equipment, escalating unresolved problems to Bio-med or IT as directed. Organizes and tracks monitoring equipment during the shift, ensuring proper configuration for patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. Ensures accurate lead placement and electrode application to maintain optimal telemetry monitoring. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Complies with all policies and standards.
