Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- BLS
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the director and with the direct supervision of the Charge RN admits and discharges patients from the monitoring system
- Communicates cardiac rhythms to nursing when requested or when changes occur
- Prints and interprets rhythm strips, per policy. Rhythm strips are given to the Unit Secretary for filing.
- Maintains continuous monitoring for patients on cardiac telemetry; utilizing a high degree or critical thinking skills to both effectively and appropriately communicate, manage equipment, and alarm settings, per policy.
- Additional responsibilities include billing input for telemetry and/or other patient charges.
