About The Position

A Monitor Technician at Delray Medical Center is responsible for continuously monitoring the heart rhythm patterns of patients using telemetry equipment to detect and identify abnormal variances. This involves reviewing patient information to establish normal heart rhythm patterns, comparing them with current patterns, and noting any prior variances. The technician observes cardiac monitors, listens for alarms, and promptly informs the Assistant Nurse Manager and/or Registered Nurse of any identified abnormal variations in heart rhythm to facilitate immediate patient examination. Responsibilities

Monitoring the heart rhythm pattern of patients to detect abnormal pattern variances using telemetry equipment
Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variances
Observes cardiac monitor and listens for alarms to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm
Informs Assistant Nurse Manager and/or Registered Nurse of variances to initiate examination of patient
