About The Position
The Monitor Tech possesses the knowledge and ability to provide continuous ECG monitoring through the assessment of EKG strips and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias. This includes the measurement of P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations. The role requires troubleshooting skills to recognize monitoring problems, identify probable causes, and seek solutions to correct them. Additionally, the Monitor Tech is responsible for maintaining inventories, supplies, hardware, and telemetry transmitters in working condition, and for appropriately reporting malfunctions promptly as applicable.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- No experience required
- Successful completion of PHC telemetry monitoring competency assessment within 30 Days
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of experience as a monitor technician
- Certification as a Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician (CCMTT) through the American Education Certification Association
- Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International
Responsibilities
