About The Position

Position Summary Performs various activities regarding electrocardiograms on patients requiring continual cardiac monitoring. Responsible for the set-up of telemetry on physician orders by ensuring proper placement of electrodes, running strips, and replacing batteries as needed.

Requirements

• Experience: Previous experience as Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant, Monitor Tech or Monitor Tech Trainee. or equivalent.
• Education: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.
• Certifications: AHA required

Nice To Haves

• Experience: One (1) year experience as Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant, Monitor Tech, Monitor Tech Trainee in an acute healthcare setting.
• Certifications: Specialty areas Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

• Attaches, connects, and operates electrodes from specified body areas to leads from electrocardiograph machine or stress test machine.
• Reviews patient's record and instructs patients prior to procedures.
• Monitors patient during procedures and reports any abnormal findings.
• Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
• Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned
