Website: https://www.stmarysregional.com Position Summary: Assist in care of hospital patients under the direction of nursing and the medical staff. Position is responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care, and for promoting teamwork among co-workers.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED required. College coursework preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in healthcare field with emphasis in clerical experience and high degree of public contact.
  • Completion of in-house Healthstream e-learning module on basic dysrhythmia and EKG class.
  • Legible handwriting, typing skills.
  • Experience with patient care activities.
  • Medical terminology preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • College coursework preferred.
  • Medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Observe telemetry monitors, respond to alarms and/or disconnects, document changes in patient rhythms and notification of nurse (full name) caring for patient.
  • Ensures that patients are monitored at all times by trained staff when having to leave the telemetry area (i.e., breaks, meals, etc.)
  • Assist physicians in locating Dysrhythmia records.
  • Assist with orientation of new personnel on basic dysrhythmia interpretation.
  • Demonstrates competence in recognition and handling of life threatening and non life- threatening rhythms based on sight interpretation and EKG measurements.
