About The Position

We are seeking a Molecular Biology & Protein Scientist to support DNA construct design/assembly, sample preparation for sequencing, DNA production & quantitation, mammalian cell culture & transfections, protein purification & quantitation, and automated liquid handling directly on a client site. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in biochemistry or a related field who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced laboratory environment.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Biochemistry or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Proficiency in aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture.
  • Basic understanding of molecular biology techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

  • Leadership experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • DNA plasmid design & cloning, purification, quantitation & QC
  • High throughput molecular biology operations, including PCR setup, ligation reactions, DNA purification using liquid handling automation.
  • Nanopore sequencing: sample preparation, system operation, & data analysis
  • Maintain mammalian cell lines using aseptic techniques and ensure consistent supply for twice-weekly transient transfection processes.
  • Perform transient transfections and purify antibodies/proteins using automated equipment under supervision.
  • Cell-free peptide expression using automated equipment under supervision.
  • Accurately document experimental procedures and results in client-provided Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs).
  • Analyze and summarize data upon training and contribute to troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts
  • Supports and monitors the performance of the team of employees
  • May participate in new hire interviews
  • Supports the on-boarding process of new employees
  • Disseminate administrative communications
  • Demonstrate and promote the company's vision
  • Ensure adherence to highest quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operations
  • Ensure coverage and performance for all shifts, and work duties
  • Performs administrative tasks for team member growth and development
  • Adeptly balance technical lab work with leadership responsibilities
  • Foster morale and teamwork
