About The Position
Woodstream is the largest independent pest & animal control platform in North America, offering innovative brands with industry-leading efficacy and safety. We have an immediate opportunity for a: Molding Packer, 1st shift in Knoxville, TN. Pay rates starting at $15.00/hr A Molding Packer / Handler is responsible for safety, quality and throughput of multiple processes. A Molding & Plastic Packer / Handler is part of the production team and will participate as a team member in solving problems and implementing solutions to increase Woodstream’s productivity. Their success will be determined by the positive way in which they communicate, cooperate, interact, and contribute towards achieving work center goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Willingness to be flexible on hours worked.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be able to analyze problems and make rational decisions with minimal supervision.
- Must possess a positive attitude and enjoy working with others.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with hand tools such as wrench and screwdriver preferred
- Experience operating pallet jack preferred
Responsibilities
- Performance of processes at or beyond standard (100% + efficiency)
- Manufacturing quality parts as defined by product specifications and documentation.
- Complying with safety policies of the company and working to achieve an accident free environment.
- Identify problem areas that are focused on Safety, Quality and Throughput.
- Participate with team members to define issues and suggest solutions.
- Interact with all team members toward accomplishment of Safety, Quality and Throughput goals.
- Provide quality training to facilitate team skills development.
- Operates with proficiency in the assigned work center.
- Produce consistently, parts and/or product that meet the specified quality requirements.
- Proficient in use of tools and gages required to produce and monitor quality parts.
- Responsible for inspection of the parts produced in the assigned work center.
- Performs secondary processes such as drilling and trimming parts produced.
- Follows process documentation on stacking, storage and packing for parts produced.
- Maintain and support continuous operations in accordance with work center schedules.
- Maximize machine efficiency and throughput, and when appropriate, seek assistance for equipment failure.
- Interact with others towards accomplishment of team goals/objectives
- Provide quality cross training and support to co-workers as needed. Integrate temporary employees into duties as required.
- Participate in identifying problems, suggest improvements and participate where appropriate in implementation of solutions.
- Operate in a safe manner and comply with safety policies and procedures at all times
- Maintain work area in a neat and orderly way, during and at end of shift.
- Record and maintain any data related to work activity in a concise, accurate way, and communicate appropriately.
- Will assist in operations in any which way deemed essential to meet production requirements.
