About The Position

We have an immediate opportunity for a: Molding Machine Technician 1st Molding Machine Technicians I are part of the production team. Molding Machine Technicians I are responsible for setting up tooling and equipment and optimizing equipment uptime, in the Molding Department. They can respond rapidly to situations to meet production plans to service the requirements of our customers. Molding Machine Technicians I are responsible for quality, throughput, and safety.

Requirements

HSD / GED required
Basic math skills
The ability to use basic measurement tools
Hands on experience with basic machining tools
The ability to perform/repair electric issues with molds, machines, and facility.
Set-up/troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance experience in a machine-based manufacturing environment
Willingness to be flexible on hours worked
Must be able to analyze problems and make rational decisions with minimal supervision
Must possess a positive attitude and enjoy working with others
Ability to lead others in a positive work environment
Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude
Effective problem-solving skills directed at increasing throughput, quality, and safety
Effective communication skills

Nice To Haves

Electrical schooling/training experience preferred
Experience working in a molding environment preferred
Plastic processing skills experience preferred
Experience with MS Office products preferred

Responsibilities

Maintain uptime on all production equipment to meet throughput rates on a consistent and reliable basis
Complete mold set ups in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with all scheduled production requirements
Participate in the implementation of ideas that reduce downtime and improve overall productivity
Demonstration of safety awareness and execution of safety policies and procedures always, while maintaining a safe and orderly work environment
Perform material handling duties (maintaining material in hoppers, material/color changes, mixing dye, material inventory) as required
Relieve Packers as needed
Communicate effectively with shift supervisor, operators, and other department personnel
Utilize all Woodstream’s documentation procedures as required
Trains Packers and Machine operators.
Maintains professional appearance in technical work areas with an emphasis on housekeeping.
Will assist in operations, in any way deemed essential to meet Woodstream’s production requirements
Assists Maintenance in trouble shooting /fixing issues with facility and equipment
Ability to continually learn and develop new skills and knowledge
Works with Maintenance to do specific project work in plant.
Performs other duties as assigned
