Requirements

  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Have mechanical and electrical/controls aptitude.
  • Accept responsibility for work performed.
  • Dependable and motivated with a good work history.
  • Able to participate in an apprenticeship or technical training program.
  • Able to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and automation diagrams.
  • Good reading comprehension and math skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds overhead.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to waist.
  • Must be able to work around grease, oils and solvents without adverse reaction.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders.
  • Must be able to stand, walk bend or stoop through an entire shift.
  • Good manual dexterity of arms and fingers.
  • Must have 20/20 vision with correction and must be able to differentiate color.

Responsibilities

  • Perform automation-related duties with minimum supervision.
  • Conduct scheduled and preventative maintenance on robots, automated equipment, sensors, conveyors, and related control systems.
  • Assist employees in all departments and facilities with troubleshooting automation issues.
  • Keep automation work areas, robots, and peripheral equipment neat and orderly.
  • Demonstrate willingness to receive training and progress in the automation/controls field.
  • Obtain parts in times of emergency to minimize downtime.
  • Take control of equipment when a situation arises that has the potential for personal injury or rapid deterioration of automated machinery.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
