Molder Trainee Position Summary: Molder Trainee operates and adjusts injection molding machines normally with a Molder or Foreman being present to maintain operating efficiencies and quality standards. The Molder Trainee is also responsible for the safety, process control, some maintenance work, quality, regrind, housekeeping and the proper use of the MDT40 units within their work cell.

Requirements

  • Fork Lift, hand tools, torches, bench grinder skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Molder Trainee will start and stop injection machines, robots and peripheral product handling equipment
  • Clean, grease and check oil levels of machines and mold faces
  • Cycle machines to maintain quality and efficiencies
  • Perform minor mechanical and electrical repairs
  • Molder Trainee will troubleshoot and repair material handling system
  • Have a working knowledge of support systems
  • Molder Trainee will report any mold or machine deficiency (Maintenance Work Order System)
  • Maintain and update daily all required documentation including Daily Check Lists.
  • Ensure proper reuse of rejects by completing all grinding by shift’s end
  • Check and fill color concentrates and set up and maintain color concentrates.
  • Check and fill regrind bins and perform on- line grinding
  • To check machines running material from gaylords, and keep full as needed
  • Check and fill gaylord’s on machines
  • Set up for color changes
  • Maintain proper let downs of color concentrate
  • To utilize regrind wherever possible
  • Provide weekend work coverage and work overtime as needed
  • To clean Conair dust collectors
  • Assist Maintenance, Tool Room and Stacker departments
  • Perform any duty deemed necessary by supervisor
  • Must attend all required safety training, and operator training courses
  • Follow all Safe Practices and safety policies and procedures.
  • Report all accident, incidents, safety violations, near misses or unsafe conditions to your Supervisory IMMEDIATELY.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices while in production areas
  • Adhere to all GFSI standards policies and procedures in regards to product Safety, Quality and Legality
  • Adhere to and enforce procedures in regards to Food Defense and HACCP
