Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs and tracks all routine preventive maintenance on all production tools Repairs molds as required by welding and machining Oversees all work and work orders for all molds Manages all SMED changes to production molds Organizes all inserts in cabinets, and maintain cabinets Oversees all mold changes and reports Responsible for mold downtime and reports Directs fellow team members in daily workload Works with tooling vendors on repairs Maintains a safe inventory stock on mold parts. Initiates purchase order for parts Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements Works daily with Quality department on defects Participates in on-call program and may be required to work additional hours as required Performs other related duties as assigned Follows all safety rules and procedures and observes the operations to ensure a safe environment Accomplish all work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production; and improve plant efficiency Follows all safety rules and procedures including the Lockout/Tagout program, housekeeping, and 5S standards and observes the operations to ensure a safe work environment Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form. Education and/or Experiences High School Diploma or GED 3-5 years’ experience in a maintenance-related position within a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience Strong understanding of injection mold design, function, and materials. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc. Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges Basic understanding of systems, equipment and schematics Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Good troubleshooting skills Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractions Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
