About The Position

The Mold Design Engineer will analyze assigned Order Sales Sheets (OSS) and Change Notices (CN) for engineering content and impact, execute the design accordingly and provide daily progress updates to the Mold Design Engineering Working Lead. The Mold Design Engineer ensures design and configuration work complies with production release standards and meets cost, quality, and timing requirements. This role involves designing molds and performing basic design reviews for blow molding, interacting with quality and purchasing departments to meet standards and deadlines, and maintaining technical skills through training. The engineer is also responsible for understanding customer requirements, driving closure on open requirements, verifying satisfaction, identifying and mitigating risks, establishing timing plans for orders and projects, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Proven record for solving complex technical issues in a structured manner.
  • Solid performance with Solid Works and 3DX.
  • Relevant experience with mechanical analysis and tolerance/fit analysis.
  • Ability to identify technical risks, develop
  • Strong communicator able to provide detailed information in a concise manner and be able to tailor communications to different audiences.
  • Experience working in multiple design phases (Development, Production, Sustaining).
  • Ability to use the following tools: Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Power Point
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline or +3 years of equivalent design work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Designs molds and performs basic design reviews of molds for blow molding.
  • Interact with quality department and purchasing department, ensuring quality standards and delivery deadlines are met.
  • Maintains currency with respect to technical skills by attending training classes and special technical courses as needed.
  • Provide daily update to Mold Design Engineering Working Lead.
  • Ensure customer requirements are clearly understood, drive closure on open requirements, and verify requirements are satisfied.
  • Identify risks, document, prioritize, mitigate, and communicate.
  • Establish timing plans to execute assigned orders and projects.
  • All other duties as assigned.
