Job Summary: The Mold Attendant at Becton, Dickinson and Company is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of injection molding machines and ancillary equipment to produce high-quality medical device components. This role ensures continuous production, adherence to quality standards, and a clean working environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to injection molding or plastics.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 35 pounds, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with GMPs and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor multiple injection molding machines, ensuring proper machine cycles, material flow, and part ejection.
  • Perform visual inspections of molded parts for defects, ensuring compliance with quality specifications and documentation.
  • Load raw materials (resins, colorants) into hoppers and ensure proper material handling and identification.
  • Monitor and adjust machine parameters as needed under supervision to maintain part quality and production efficiency.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of molds, machines, and surrounding work areas.
  • Assist with mold changes and setups, including connecting water lines, ejectors, and other peripheral equipment.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions, part quality issues, or safety concerns to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
  • Follow all safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Complete production records, downtime logs, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs.
