Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer (Level 5) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Colorado Springs, CO. Position Overview: The Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer Level 5 will support a growing portfolio of programs and IRADs that focus on missile defense, space, and intelligence and will support various modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) project teams in evaluating the mission performance of military systems. Essential Functions: This position will specifically focus on the development and analysis of models and simulations utilizing the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) Framework.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 12 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 10 years of related experience, or 8 years of experience with a PhD.
• Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
• Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
• Experience using Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) to inform the development of systems along the left side of the “systems engineering vee”
• Experience using Python, MATLAB, SQL, or related technologies to interpret complex data sets
• Comfortable communicating technical information to technical and non-technical customers
• Experience mentoring and developing junior-level engineers
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team setting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
