About The Position

NextGen Federal Systems is seeking a Mid-level Modeling and Simulation Engineer. The primary focus of this position is to develop radar threat simulations for Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) software testing and validation. This role supports the broader efforts of the Army Reprogramming Analysis Team (ARAT). Responsibilities may include radar signal parameter analysis, interpretation, and the development of radar signal simulations.

Requirements

  • An active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to be submitted for a Top Secret
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics)
  • (2) years’ experience with performing and developing simulations or testing for new and/or modified products or product components
  • Knowledge of General Coding Fundamentals, to include variables, functions, Booleans, arrays and array manipulation, and code logic
  • Knowledge in Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Comfortable using standard Windows and Office tools

Nice To Haves

  • (1) Year Modeling and Simulation experience preferred
  • Able to digest new technical information at a rapid pace for practical use
  • Eagerness to improve efficiency and streamline work procedures
  • Experience in RF test equipment
  • Experience with Gitlab
  • Familiarity with engineering hardware analysis tools (Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers) and hardware connectivity and protocols
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral

Responsibilities

  • Interpret parametric data and descriptions of both mechanical and RF capabilities of a system
  • Understand how the system functionally operates and use that information to create radar emitter simulations
  • Discern which design and functional characteristics of radar systems affect which characteristics of an emitted radar signal
  • Create algorithms that produce different results based on various provided inputs
