About The Position

Do you have a knack for coordinating maintenance solutions that keep aircraft and operations moving? As a Maintenance Operations Center (MOC) Regional Program Manager, you support Tech Ops and Maintenance Planning by providing short‑term planning and day‑to-day oversight of on‑call contract line maintenance across domestic and international locations. You establish and manage provider agreements, partner closely with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure compliance with Southwest’s tank dive, pest control, and international policies through clear communication and quality assurance audits. Your work ensures consistent maintenance execution across the network, helping Southwest operate reliably, safely, and efficiently for our Customers and Crews. Requirements

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, Leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of People and resources
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of market data to ensure that contracts are negotiated in a manner that produces the best possible outcome and costs for Southwest Airlines
  • Knowledge of aviation quality assurance audit programs and procedures
  • Knowledge of CBP and international agencies for the import and export of AOG materials
  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Skilled in considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
  • Ability to read, interpret, and adhere to the SWA Maintenance Procedures Manual, Government Rules, and Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Ability to clearly communicate information and instructions, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to accomplish assignments and projects while working under tight time constraints
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in: Aviation Quality Assurance Auditing Supply Chain Logistics Stores/Warehouse Functions
  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be willing to travel to various locations, including internationally
  • Expected travel is 40 percent
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain a United States passport

  • Preferred: Experience in engineering, Mx Planning, Mx Production Operation, and MXI (Maintenix)

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Maintenance representative for reviewing, approving, and/or modifying International-related policies and procedures within the MOC
  • Comply with directives set forth by the Sr. Director Maintenance Operations Center Support
  • Ensure compliance with all Tech Ops-related programs and procedures for all SWA non-AMT domestic (CONUS and OCONUS) and international stations
  • Review, code, approve, and coordinate payment of all On-call, tank dive, and pest control invoices and reconcile discrepancies, as required
  • Take required actions to maintain service levels and inventory objectives at all Southwest non-maintenance stations (CONUS and OCONUS and international)
  • Act as liaison with internal SWA personnel, external entities, and the FAA in dealing with regulations and policies directly affecting International processes within the MOC
  • Assist in the development of systems and processes to monitor contract compliance and ensure that all services are invoiced in line with the terms of the contract
  • Establish goals and supporting procedures and processes for support of line services
  • Interact directly with Contract (On-call) Maintenance Providers to establish and execute agreements/contracts, ensure adherence to SWA policies and procedures, and provide the exceptional level of Customer service for which SWA is known
  • Manage ongoing partnership relationships where appropriate and act as a liaison between those suppliers/partners participating in maintenance-related contracts with other Maintenance and Engineering Departments
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee Leaders
