About The Position

Hopelink’s Mobility Management team empowers people to change their lives by facilitating access to the community. We do this by (1) providing travel education and resources to build awareness of existing transportation options; (2) supporting the coordination of specialized transportation through cross-sector collaborations; and (3) gathering data and needs assessment to recommend and implement improved services. We work to make it easier for all people to get around King County through innovative, collaborative problem-solving. This position will assist the Mobility Team and project partners in the development and implementation of King County Metro's Community Van Program, offered in partnership with Hopelink Mobility Management.   This role is responsible for outreach, community education, and volunteer coordination, etc.  The Community Van program currently serves Snoqualmie Valley, Redmond, Sammamish, Tukwila, and Shoreline/Lake Forest Park. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, self-motivated, and possess a passion and interest in making an impact in the local community. Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills with a talent for building professional relationships and the ability to work collaboratively on projects.
  • Experience working in customer service.
  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Experience with community outreach and engagement.
  • Skilled in effective action planning and project implementation. Ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects; organized, detail oriented.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data, defining problems, identifying potential solutions, developing implementation strategies, and evaluating outcomes.
  • Experience working with diverse communities, preferably low-income, older adults, people with disabilities, immigrants, refugees, youth, and/or veterans.
  • Ability to travel throughout King County and Snoqualmie Valley by car (mileage reimbursed)
  • A valid Washington State driver's license, personal automobile liability insurance, and a clean driving record is required.
  • The role requires lifting up to 40 lbs. of weight during outreach, volunteer driver training, or other program activities.
  • Ability to travel as necessary within or outside of King County by car. Currently, travel may be required 2-3 times per week during the workday for outreach events or to collect trip logs from the community vans or for volunteer training, etc. in the communities of: Snoqualmie Valley, Redmond, Sammamish, Tukwila, Shoreline/Lake Forest Park, and the greater King County region. Mileage will be reimbursed based on miles driven from office base.

Responsibilities

  • Provide staff support for Community Van programs throughout Hopelink’s jurisdictions, which currently include Snoqualmie Valley, Redmond, Sammamish, Tukwila, and Shoreline/Lake Forest Park.
  • Coordinate Community Van volunteer driver recruitment, training, and retention. Serve as day-to-day contact for program volunteers; schedule trainings and orientations, provide volunteer updates, and collect volunteer opportunity interests. Update and maintain volunteer contact list. Maintain a welcoming and responsive relationship with volunteer drivers and develop and execute volunteer appreciation projects.
  • Lead coordination of vehicle drop-offs/pick-ups for vehicle maintenance and conduct regular vehicle checks at least twice a month per jurisdiction. Monitor vehicles for unscheduled maintenance needs and work with Vehicle Distribution Center to maintain vehicle condition.
  • Organize and perform outreach around King County to facilitate more opportunities for clients to learn about Community Van and other transportation resources, including but not limited to attending local events, partnering with organizations, and presenting to groups virtually or in-person. This may include evening and weekend events.
