We aim to foster a culture that values openness, transparency and individual achievement. Purpose of the role The primary role of this job entails operating a FEL – Front end Loading shovel . It is imperative for the operator to ensure the safe and proper operation of these machines. Furthermore, they may be expected to operate any other mobile plant machinery, as directed by Site Management, provided they are certified to do so safely and efficiently. Additionally, the job involves performing maintenance tasks on mobile plant equipment as required by both the manufacturer and Heidelberg Materials. Moreover, the operator may be assigned other tasks within their capabilities on the main processing plant, in accordance with recommendations from Site Management. This role demands a strong emphasis on safety and efficient equipment operation.

Requirements

  • GCSE 4+ Maths and English
  • Good general education required, and large amount of health and safety regulations and Quarry Regulations are required to be understood and carried out.
  • Certification by EPIC to operate mobile plant.
  • NVQ level 2 in mobile plant operations required following EPIC completion.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily to operate a FEL ( Front end loading shovel ) de stocking sand from a wash plant and loading HGV’s with sand.
  • To be able to operate the machine in a safe and proper manner.
  • To be able to operate any other mobile plant machines, as directed by Site Management, to which they are certificated in safe and proper manner.
  • To undertake maintenance works to mobile plant as required by manufacturer and Heidelberg Materials.
  • To undertake other duties within their scope on the main processing plant in accordance with Site Management recommendations.
  • To be able to operate mobile plant as required.
  • To adhere to the company health & safety policy.
  • To adhere to the Quarry Regulations 1999.
