Mobile Outreach Meals Supervisor

About The Position

Lee County, Iowa is one of the highest food insecure counties in Iowa. During the school year children are fed at school with breakfast and lunch, however, in the summer many children go without proper nutrition. Working in conjunction with the Keokuk School District, The Salvation Army provides a meal per day to children throughout Lee County who are not able to walk to the school for a free summer lunch.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft software to the ability to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data via a web-based system.
  • Team player, self-starter and performs well with minimal supervision.
  • Administrative skills include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to details and filing.
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
  • Must pass all applicable background checks.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside.
  • Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
  • Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the EDS Canteen to pick up food, distribute and return leftovers to school.
  • Responsible to complete school forms as directed along with The Salvation Army’s statistical forms on a daily basis.
  • This role is responsible to build quality healthy relationships with children from the local community through positive interaction.
  • To be a positive example and reflect the love of Jesus Christ, keeping the environment as uplifting and safe as positive.
  • Perform other duties as assigned related to the Mobile Outreach Meals program.
  • This position may require you to work hours outside of normal business hours, including holidays and weekends.
  • Driving is an essential function of the position.
  • All other duties as assigned.
