Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED .
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication, organization, teamwork, cultural competence, and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Day shift, evenings, weekends, and flexible hours.
  • Must be able to drive customized mobile medical unit w/pull behind trailer , Sprinter van w/pull behind trailer or pull behind golf cart . Driving includes parking in tight spaces, the ability to back up and maneuver units into event spaces.
  • Must have experience working with high-use vehicles with upkeep and maintenance.
  • Experience working with and/or around biohazard items, including blood collection bins.
  • Must be able to drive mobile medical units at night
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs; lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Good balance, gross motor coordination, hearing to detect whispered speech at 3 feet, 20/40 corrected vision, must be able to drive at night.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 3+ years tractor/trailer/bus driving or completion of an accredited truck driving program with 2 years’ experience.
  • Familiarity with infection control, HIPAA, and CPR preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards around mobile medical services .

Responsibilities

  • Drive Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) to scheduled sites and remain with the unit during operations.
  • Perform pre/post-trip inspections, maintain mileage & travel logs, obey DOT and traffic regulations.
  • Assist Prevention staff with set up and breakdown at all remote locations: Clinic events (primary care, vaccine, testing) Compassionate care and risk reduction events Prevention outreach events
  • Assist with patient intake and clinical flow and help patients on/off the unit when needed.
  • Maintain vehicle systems and follow preventive maintenance.
  • Clean and disinfect interior daily; clean exterior as needed.
  • Inventory and reporting: Track MMU specific supplies Restocking needs Maintenance needs Submit monthly paperwork
  • Ensure patient and staff safety
  • Respond to emergencies within scope until professional help arrives.
  • Attend weekly, monthly, and quarterly staff meetings.
