About The Position

The Mobile Hose Testing Technician is part of the Mobile Hose Preventative Maintenance program and is responsible for a variety of tasks related to testing of hose related parts. The function of the Mobile Hose Testing Team is to meet or exceed customer expectations and to achieve team results and company goals while meeting operating revenue, growth, and service Maintaining a safe working environment and good housekeeping conditions is always a key priority. Reports to the Mobile Hose Testing Supervisor/Hose Management Director.

Requirements

  • Ability to work overtime hours and weekend work when required
  • Ability to travel to out-of-town jobs/ overnight stays (80%)
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with customers, and team-members in a professional manner
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Requires proficiency in math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in units of measure. Additionally, must be able to perform calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Mechanically inclined; demonstrates and applies knowledge to maintenance and repair of industrial hose
  • Basic computer skills including; MS Word, Excel, internet and email
  • Team player - able to work closely with cross-functional groups
  • Good "hands-on" working approach
  • 1-2 years of hose testing and/ or hose knowledge experience in an industrial setting
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver's license, and a clean driving record are required
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Background checks, drug screening will be required (as warranted by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment)
  • Ability to travel up to 80%
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory plus overnight travel
  • Reliable transportation is a must
  • Ability to work overtime, as required
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as required

Responsibilities

  • Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures
  • Performs all product testing to quality standards as required by the customer and per company work instructions
  • Good understanding of overall Quality process and documentation
  • Operates mechanical equipment, hand tools and forklifts
  • Makes recommendations to management with respect to product and process improvements
  • Assists with physical inventory where needed
  • Perform other duties as trained and qualified for
