About The Position

The Mobile Health Unit (MHU) Driver – PRN supports the Mobile Health Unit by ensuring safe and timely transportation to scheduled community sites across South Carolina. This role is essential to maintaining continuity of mobile health services, especially when the primary driver is unavailable. The PRN driver will be responsible for operating the unit, assisting with basic setup, and ensuring compliance with safety and travel protocols. This position is ideal for a licensed CDL professional who is passionate about supporting healthcare access and can be available on an as-needed basis to prevent service disruptions. Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating large vehicles.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Strong reliability and punctuality.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with vehicle safety checks.
  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • 1 year Work Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience driving mobile units or RV-style vehicles.
  • Familiarity with healthcare or community service environments.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate the Mobile Health Unit to and from designated event locations.
  • Ensure timely arrival and departure from scheduled sites.
  • Assist with basic site setup (e.g., parking, leveling, power connection).
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, operational, and travel protocols.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  • Report any mechanical issues or concerns promptly.

  • Schedule regular servicing and inspections, addressing mechanical needs proactively.
