About The Position

The Mobile Equipment Technician’s primary responsibility is troubleshooting and repairing all fleet equipment and ensuring Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures are completed. The mobile equipment technician will also support the documentation of PM completion records and procedures for our mobile fleet. Perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on company vehicles, forklifts, yard trucks, and other mobile equipment used in manufacturing, production, and logistics. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks. Collaborate with site maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and minimize production and manufacturing disruptions. Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies used in equipment repairs. Conduct inspections and safety checks on fleet vehicles and equipment. Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders using mobile or digital systems. Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards. Basic testing knowledge of all mobile equipment systems. Can perform repairs and maintenance jobs with minimal supervision. Diagnose and identify malfunctions, using computerized tools and equipment. Assist and perform preventive maintenance on mobile equipment. Overhaul and test major components, such as engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts on all mobile equipment. Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine service on mobile equipment. Perform major repair when necessary. Consult with site maintenance team to ensure equipment is maintained properly. Establish correct preventive maintenance intervals for all mobile equipment. Adhere to company policies and procedures. Prompt and dependable attendance. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Mechanical knowledge and experience.
  • Understand electrical control.
  • Engine diagnostic scan tools.
  • Read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions and being dependable and trustworthy.
  • Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work related problems.
  • Ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of one’s ability using his or her own drive or initiative.
  • Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years in mobile equipment maintenance preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL license preferred or willing to obtain.
  • Technical training or certifications/licensing preferred.
