About The Position

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the mobile experience for a fast-growing, mission-driven digital healthcare platform. As the primary Mobile Engineer, you will own mobile architecture across iOS and Android, contributing hands-on to the codebase while guiding technical standards and architectural decisions. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver consumer-facing features, and mentor engineers while working with external or outsourced development partners. This position blends individual contribution with technical leadership, offering high impact, autonomy, and visibility. Ideal candidates are experienced in modern mobile frameworks, have strong architectural judgment, and are passionate about building scalable, maintainable, and performant applications. You will play a central role in defining how mobile products are built and delivered across a growing organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with significant mobile development experience.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining mobile architectures for consumer apps.
• Strong understanding of iOS and/or Android platform fundamentals, including performance, lifecycle, and platform constraints.
• Proficiency with modern mobile frameworks and languages such as Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin, React Native, Flutter, and basic Python knowledge.
• Experience guiding or collaborating with external or outsourced engineering teams.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and influence engineers without formal authority.
• Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience building consumer-facing products with attention to UX, reliability, and iteration speed.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and defining technical direction in a growing company.

Responsibilities

• Own mobile architecture and technical vision for iOS and Android applications, ensuring scalability, maintainability, performance, and security.
• Define and evolve technical standards, patterns, and best practices for mobile development.
• Lead architectural decisions for state management, networking, data persistence, offline support, and release strategies.
• Act as a technical mentor, coaching engineers and guiding outsourced or small teams.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver high-quality, consumer-facing features.
• Contribute hands-on to complex or high-impact areas of the mobile codebase.
• Review code and designs with a focus on long-term quality and proactively mitigate technical risks.
