Requirements

  • Certification as an Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) preferred
  • Current Heavy Truck ASE certifications preferred
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow technical manuals to ensure proper diagnosis and repair
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer and basic applications
  • CDL preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on Emergency Vehicles primarily, Pierce Fire Apparatus and Road Rescue Ambulances
  • Accomplish repairs and perform services outlined in established technical manuals
  • Perform inspection and repair on apparatus components
  • Understand and follow technical manuals, lube orders, wiring and hydraulic schematics utilized during scheduled service intervals to ensure proper diagnosis and repair of vehicles and equipment
  • Perform major repair jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, removing and installing components and removing and installing assemblies
  • Utilizes diagnostic tools (both manual and electronic) to assess and evaluate required service/ repairs
  • Continued training and certification
