Responsible for assuring safe and efficient transportation of patients to and from healthcare destinations in either an ambulance or a wheelchair van.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Emergency Medical Vehicle Operator (EMVO) Certification through WV Office of Emergency Medical Services within 60 days of hire.
• Two (2) years driving experience with clean driving record.
• Service Excellence Standards.
• Knowledge of street, route and healthcare facility locations.
• Ability to follow hospital policies on attendance, punctuality, and scheduling.
• Computer skills to complete run reports and track daily activity.
• Ability to trouble shoot minor mechanical problems with van and lift.
• Accountable for keeping wheelchairs clean and in good repair.
• Familiar with WV emergency driving laws.

Nice To Haves

• EMT certification through the West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services.
• Two (2) years of experience driving emergency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Plans and organizes patient transfers.
• Moves patients via wheelchair to various appointments.
• Safely secures wheelchair patients utilizing seatbelts and restraining straps.
• Completes run reports on all patient moves.
• To support the Mission Of WVU Camden Clark: To meet the healthcare needs of our community for a lifetime.
• Is an integral part of our emergency team assuring safe transport to and from the scene of accident or illness.
