About The Position

Mobile Crisis Team staffs for all shifts. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Provide mobile crisis intervention to adults in Louisville Metro. Assess the situation, engage and develop rapport, and de-escalate. De-escalate person in crisis and determine what you can do to help them today. Assessment may take place in person in the community, at the individual's residence, etc. Develop a crisis plan utilizing the strengths of the individual and available community resources to resolve the immediate crisis. Facilitate follow-up interventions with the individual. Determine appropriate level of care during the crisis and arrange referrals. Work collaboratively with law enforcement, families, other county departments, schools, acute care services providers, and other community resources to coordinate appropriate crisis resolution and referral. Communicate pertinent information on a timely basis to persons in crisis, MetroSafe call takers and dispatch, LMPD, SCS, and any other appropriate parties while also preserving the dignity and privacy of the person in crisis as much as possible. Complete and coordinate accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of all interventions transacted during the work shift. Perform other duties as assigned, including responding to emergency coverage needs. Facilitate a culture of openness and collaboration to ensure all team members are providing accurate, quality, crisis assistance, including accurate documentation. Attend and participate in staff and team meetings. Utilize person centered and trauma informed approach to each interaction. EDUCATION High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred. EXPERIENCE Minimum of one year experience in human services with a Master’s degree, or Minimum of two years’ experience in human services with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Human Services, or related field of study, or Minimum of five years’ experience in the human services field without a degree. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of available community resources. Ability to make sound decisions and judgments in stressful or unusual situations. Good supervisory skills and the ability to work in a team environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS Position requires lifting of 20 pounds maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of items weighing up to 10 pounds or requires significant periods of walking or standing. Exposure to threat of bodily harm from clients or families. Normal tasks may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissue. May involve 24-hour on-call responsibilities. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Valid driver's license required. Requirements
