About The Position

NorthKey Community Care is seeking multiple full-time and part-time Mobile Crisis Responders to provide in-person community crisis response as part of a team to individuals experiencing mental health and substance use crises in the Northern Kentucky community. The position will be based in NorthKey's Covington, Kentucky office, but will involve traveling throughout the Northern Kentucky region to respond to crises. We are hiring for TWO 3rd shift 12:30 am to 9 am. Both of these positions WILL require weekend shifts and holiday rotation. This position is on-site at 502 Farrell Drive, Covington, KY 41011.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health field is preferred, or Peer Support Certification is preferred.
  • High School Diploma and at least one year of experience working with individuals with mental health diagnoses may substitute for a bachelor’s degree or Peer Support certification.
  • Relevant knowledge, training, and experience in the behavioral health field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license, have a personal vehicle, and the ability to drive a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Respond in person as part of a team to community settings, including homes, schools, hospitals, and other locations, to individuals who are experiencing mental health and substance use crises.
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to de-escalate crises and develop effective safety plans.
  • Assist individuals in developing a plan for care, including arranging hospitalization or outpatient resources as indicated.
  • Effectively address the functional challenges of individuals served.
  • Identify and address risks and current or potential gaps in care to prevent unnecessary deterioration that could result in hospitalizations, emergency room visits, or loss of independence in vocational, academic, and/or social functioning.
  • Provide education to clients to promote improved functioning and skills development.
  • Coordinate transportation for clients to appointments, which connect them to community resources and services.
  • Collaborate with other members of the care team involved in the client’s case.
  • Collaborate with community providers, including law enforcement and hospital staff, to establish an appropriate community response to identified individuals.
  • Educate clients and/or families and significant others on resources to assist with identified needs.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality.
  • Complete initial and/or annual and other mandatory trainings as assigned related to crises.
