The Crisis Responder is responsible for providing 24-hour crisis coverage as part of the on-call rotation. This position is based out of O’Neill, Valentine, Ainsworth, and surrounding communities within the agency’s service area. This is a short-term service designed to assist individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis (e.g., suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, psychosis). The Crisis Responder will screen, triage, and refer individuals to the appropriate level of care and services. The crisis program is designed to prevent hospitalizations and emergency protective custody by coordinating and implementing appropriate supports that allow individuals to remain safely in their community. The Crisis Responder plays a key role in facilitating these services and supports. Peer Support Specialist Requirement: Upon certification as a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS), the Crisis Responder will demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with peer support model requirements, including continuing education (CEUs), certification standards, and National Model Standards. The Crisis Responder will function as a role model to peers, demonstrate competency in personal recovery, and maintain appropriate professional boundaries in this role.
